Introduction
The County of Fort Bend was created from Austin County in 1837, and organized the 1838. It is a South East region of Texas. The county is named for the River bend where Austin's colonists settled, among the state's more historic counties. It was the scene of the early Jaybird-Woodpecker War. Richmond is the county seat. Thus far we have only found the following records for the TOTTY families in this county.
1830 Early Richmond,
Fort Bend County
Birth
of Susan LANGDON rancher of Richmond
Notes: BTM] Elizabeth Caroline
Smith TOTTY wife of John E. TOTTY had a sister-in-law named Susan LANGDON
of Richmand, Fort Bend County, Texas. Elizabeth Caroline's
brother Richard Anderson SMITH b: Jan 5, 1827 in Maury
Co. TN. married 1) MaryYoung, 2) Susan
Langdon and 3rd) Mary Mason. Richard "Dick" Smith went to Texas
at a young age where he worked several years before returning to TN and
finding his first wife had died and was buried. He then returned
to Ft. Bend Texas where he married Susan Langdon, after her death he married
another Texas girl, Mary Mason they returned later to Tennessee where they
both died. John E. and Elizabeth Caroline SMITH TOTTY
would later name a daughter Susan Langdon TOTTY after her sister-in-law
Susan Langdon SMITH. We need records to further
prove the birth, death and marriage of Sue LANGDON SMITH in this county.
Any help would be appreciated.
Important: All Records collected for this
county may not have been added here as yet.
