The Orange County, North Carolina was created
in 1752 from the larger Bladen, Granville and Johnston counties. Later
in 1777 Caswell Co. was created from the "Northern Division" of Orange
Co. Later in 1791, Pearson Co. was created from the "Eastern" half of Caswell
Co. and in 1840 Alamance Co. was created from the "Western" half of Orange
Co. Also part of Durham Co. was created in 1881 from the "Eastern" portion
of Orange Co.

South Carolina?, m: 1st) Julia A. D. WENDEL and 2nd) Elizabeth HURD on
May 11, 1809 in Grainger Co., TN; they lived in Warren
Co., TN 2) William CANTRELL b 1792 Ninethy Six District,
SC. 3) James CANTRELL, b. 1793 SC.; 3) Abner CANTRELL b. 1795 in NC.
d: 1889 Leadhill, Boone County, Arkansas. he married Mary Maxey
in Knoxville Co., TN 1821.; 4) John
Aquilla CANTRELL b. 1797 d: TN with wife named
Mary.; 5) Richard Dickson CANTRELL, b. 1797 NC & died in Bledsoe
Co., TN, he married Susannah PARKER August 6, 1817, Jefferson Co.,
TN.; 6) Tilghman Anderson CANTRELL b: 1803 NC, he married 1st) Jane
B. Jamison and 2nd) Nancy McKee 1823 Jefferson Co., TN; 7) Elisha CANTRELl
b: 1808 Warren
Co., TN d: Parker Co., TX m: Elizabeth Unk.; 8) William
Barch CANTRELL b: 1815 Warren Co., TN m: Nancy HUGHES. 9) Hazel Green
CANTRELL b: 1820 Warren CO., TN d: 1881 Parker Co., TX and married Cynthia.
They had daughter's named 10) Susan CANTRELL
b: 1799 m: 1st) Lunsford P. YANDELL
2nd) unknow LACEY and 3rd) Anderson PARKER.; 11) Cassandra
CANTRELL b. 1801 ; d: 1848 Dewitt Co., AR m: William FRENCH October
7, 1819 in Jefferson Co., TN.
John Aquilla CANTRELL, son of William,
was the father of John Milton CANTRELL
who married Martha DAVIDSON in Marion CO., TN April 03, 1866. He
was born January 1, 1841 in Warren Co., TN and died in Bowie, Montague
Co., TX on October 27th 1925. Martha died on November 21, 1925 shortly
after her husband. Their daughter Maggie
Elizabeth CANTRELL PROCTOR married Francis
Marion TOTTY, Jr. see Montague
Co., TX.
