The County of Vernon Parish was created in 1871 from Natchitoches, Rapides and Sabine Counties . Natchitoches was an Original Parish created in 1807, along with Rapides Parish. Sabine was later created from Nachitoches in 1843. The county seat is located in Leesville, Louisiana.

(Spradling) TOTTY of Hickman County, Tennessee , Cooke County, Texas, Upshur County, Texas and Montague County, Texas. See also the Diaries of Rhoda Spradling TOTTY.   Lewis Pete "Pea" and Jennie aka Virginia SIMMONS were married in Montague County, Texas on January 11th, 1885.
