BTM]  Does anybody recognize who the Mary TOTTY aka TOLLY descends from?   Can you help us identify her?  Any help appreciated.  This may be the wife of William TOTTY found in Warren Co., KY, but unproven as yet.

1827 June 18th  Court    [Allen County Kentucky Court Day Book 1826-1837]  At a court began and held for the county of Allen at the courthouse thereof of said county on monday the 18th day of June 1827,  present, James R. Alexander, Richard Wilmott, Abel Manion.  Selected excerpted records.
Ordered that Peter ANDERSON, Jr. be appointed sureveyor in the room of Jas. Wilson.  Beginning one half mile from the public square in Scottvile to Caro   and terminating at the first ford of Rough creek and the following hands assigned said surveyor in keeping said road in repair towit:  Will Ray and hands, Robert McReynolds and hands, Lewis Smith, David Whit's hands, James Wilson.
Ordered that Josiah Norris be appointed surveyor of the precinct of the road leading from the county line at Joseph Stephens to Hughes ferry and that Alex Stewart, Stephen Lee, James Norris, Geo. Estis & hands, Jas Reeves, Thomas COMBS and hands, Richard Glover, Hadin Sulcer, Isaac Bush and hands, Henry Piland, Sam Hatler, Henry Norris, Jas. Hatler & Richardson P. Hughes and hands assist said surveyor to keep the road in repair.
Notes:  BTM] Notice that Anna Anderson married Thomas COMBS the younger of Allen County.  Thomas COMBS and Peter Anderson was mentioned in the records above on same day.   Thomas COMBS, the younger, may have been the son of Thomas COMBS in above record (ie Zur (T/I.?) COMBS).  However a son by name of Thomas was NOT mentioned in the Will of Thomas COMBS in 1862.  It may have been because Thomas COMBS the younger married to Anna ANDERSON was already deceased at time of  the elder Thomas' death in 1862.  Another thought is that Thomas COMBS, the elder had son named Zur T. (possibly Thomas?) COMBS, who is said to have been married 3 times.   The first marriage could possibly be Anna B. Anderson in 1829.

1 female age age 50-60
Notes:  BTM] Can anyone identify who this 50-60 year old female is? Could it be the first wife, said to be Deborah THOMAS COMBS? since it most likely could not be the widow Sarah KIGER who he married later in 1848.

Notes: BTM  Copy of pg from marriage book record  in my files that was sent to me by COMBS researcher Myra Britt, a descendant of Samuel COMBS b. 1834 found in hh of Thomas COMBS in 1850 census below.   This Sarah KIGER COMBS had children Ann, Elizabeth, Matilda, C.C. and A. B. KIGER from her earlier marriage.

1850 US Census, Allen County, KY.
Note from Totty Researcher and transcriber Birdie Totty McNutt: The following has been re-transcribed (Feb 1998) from Film roll # M432-190, 1850 Census (Federal): Kentucky; Adair, Allen, Anderson, and Ballard Counties. The census taker did not include the given name of a majority of the individuals in the homes, but wrote down initials instead (a genealogical nightmare). The film is very very faint and hard to read.

Notes: Peter ANDERSON, Sr. sold 174 A. to Ann B. Combs in 1838. In 1859, Valentine and Martha A. Combs Rachels, as an heir of Ann B. Combs and James W. Combs, sold an undivided ½ interest in the 174 acres (87 acres) with no indication as to who held the remaining undivided ½ interest. Peter Anderson Combs appears to have sold (roughly) only what he purchased of the RACHELS.  Note: The 174 acres was apparently re-surveyed and divided as Peter A. Combs sold not an undivided interest, but a specific 80 acres. Did he continue to hold 7 acres, or did the resurvey result in a diminishment from 174 to 160 acres? In addition to needing (if extant) wills and/or estate records for both James W. Combs and Ann B. Combs (both apparently decd by Apr 1859), the question remains as to who held the other undivided half interest - a question that can probably be answered by finding the transaction(s) for the second half of the property. Notes:  BTM] Ann B. Combs was the dau. of Peter ANDERSON and wife of Thomas Combs? Who was James W. Combs? He was apparently deceased bef 1838 (when she purch. land from ANDERSON). Ann B. herself apparently died in Posey County, IN and is buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery next to her father Peter ANDERSON.  Peter Anderson & Keziah Ann "Louannie" LANCASTER Combs are next found on the 1860 Gibson Co IN census.  Even later they are found in Sumner Co., KS Payne Co., OK and Kay Co., OK
